What is Tutoring/Mentoring?
Tutoring and mentoring is comprised of a broad range of teaching and coaching activities that help guide a student through the development of a skill or concept. Tutors and Mentors will help and support the learning of others in an interactive, purposeful, and systematic way. Effective tutoring and mentoring should be thoughtful, well-structured, and carefully monitored. Students look to the tutor and mentor as the skill and content expert who can answer questions arising from their study, guide them to other sources of information, point out connections between concepts, and provide feedback about their performance.
